Ugandan Coffee Tree
ACE 2030 are a producer lead project for Smallholder farmers coffee tree nurseries across the Rwenzori Mountains. Not so long ago, this East African origin had a reputation for low-quality Robusta. Since then, times have changed: over the last ten years, Arabica production has boomed and Uganda has started to make a name for itself among third-wave roasters and coffee lovers.

Indian Coffee Production
-
Overview
India is estimated to grow 393,000mt of coffee in 2022/2023 split between 277,000mt of Robusta
and 116,000mt of Arabica. Coffee is primarily grown in the states of Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil
Nadu. India is the seventh largest grower of coffee in the world. -
Social welfare/housing
Many of the workers on coffee farms are paid very little.
We want to help encourage these people to stay on the farms and not be tempted to shift to the urban areas, where there is a potential for there income to worsen. We can focus on social housing through our current selected producers. -
White Stem Borer
This badly affects growers of Arabica as the beetles love the Arabica over the
Robusta. White stem borer is the most serious pest of Arabica coffee in India. It occurs in China, Thailand, Sri Lanka and Vietnam.
Indian Coffee Tree
“We take immense pride in the quality of our coffee. Knowing what goes into every cup of Melkodige coffee gives consumers a chance to understand the love, passion and hard work that we put into its production. And their positive feedback is what encourages us to constantly deliver an outstanding coffee experience.” – Aveen Rodrigues, Melkodige Estate

FAQ's
-
Why is there a 25p transaction fee on every order?
In order to maintain our Coffee Tree and Social Enterprise funding model, unfortunately we have to pass on the online banking transaction fee of 25p for each transaction to our customers.
We will remain vigilant to current online banking transaction fees and should a cheaper option come available in the future, we would look to switch over to keep these costs to a minimum and ensure more of the funding received can go to good causes rather than to the credit card companies. If you know of a company that can assist , please let us know ? -
How do you know when the coffee trees have been planted?
At point of transferring the funds to the coffee tree origin team, we will be notified of the planting within 28 days. You will receive notification by email when the coffee trees you have paid to be planted have been funded.

How many coffee trees do you plan to plant?
We have staged targets of coffee tree planting, we want to ensure the funds reach the right places and producers to operate sustainably and ethically. Our first target is to plant 6 million trees within coffee producing regions, within the next 24 months.
